Our Work
Welcome to Curtis Photography on-line! Our studio is open Tuesday-Friday 9-6, and Saturday by appointment only...

Here at Curtis Photography, we find it important to give back to our community.
In 2002, three and a half year old Joanna McAfee was diagnosed with Stage IV Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare and aggressive form of childhood cancer. She spent nearly half her life undergoing many excruciating cancer treatments without complaint. She overcame complications while deeply touching the lives of all those around her with her amazing determination and childlike faith. On December 22, 2005, after three years of courageously fighting her cancer, sweet Joanna left this Earth. We had the pleasure of being able to meet and photograph Joanna. Now, every year, we donate money from our Christmas sales to the Joanna McAfee Foundation as well as participate in other fundraisers.
The Joanna McAfee foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization staffed primarily by volunteers. They rely on individual donations, company sponsorships, payroll deduction programs, and grassroots fundraising initiatives to fund their mission - raising awareness, providing support, and funding research for childhood cancer. One of our favorite events of the year is the Partners Club Prom for special needs students. We have been photographing the dance since 1992. in the past years, we also hosted an event around Christmas time where special needs children in Houston County are able to come and visit Santa Claus at the Galleria Mall in Centerville. They get a complimentary 5x7 photo with him that day.
A great way to interact and participate with these amazing special needs children is to volunteer with Special Olympics Georgia. SOGA is a foundation that allows special needs children and adults to participate in sports and other fun activities in an accepting and respectful environment.

Curtis Photography also works in conjunction with local fire departments for their annual fundraiser. We provide a free session and a free 10X13 family portrait ($140 value) to people who make a donation to their local fire department. We also donate a percentage of all sales to the volunteer fire departments in order to support their communities. This fundraiser enables our local volunteer fire departments to obtain equipment and training.
